Carla Rivera - Entertainment Business Master's Degree Full Sail University Student & Author of Droplets of Wisdom.
Carla Rivera was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico on July 22, 1987. Performing arts was always in her top most interest and practiced some of them in her daily life.
When entering the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, she decides to study Public Communication and attains a Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communications.
While this, the other thing occupying her time was a part-time job as a Ticket Associate with an entertainment and convention venue management company in the main coliseum of Puerto Rico.
Here they've given Carla the opportunities to work in different departments; from box-office, event handling, marketing, and finance.
Skills such as being multi-tasking, versatile, dynamic, adaptable, proactive and with lots of initiative, is what has helped her move within the company. She’s now working as a supervisor in the finance department for the accounting of food & beverage.
“Being a well-rounded person improves your essential skills and enlightens your personality. I consider this is what’s help me stand out professionally. Everyday I strive to improve my skills even more.” Carla says.
Working on her way up to the Entertainment Industry she’s focused on learning accounting for marketing purposes.
“After all the creative part of the job, marketers need to view calculated results to make sure the job is working beneficially. Even before, marketers should know about budgeting because it’s what ensures your expenses for the job.”
Now, doing a master's degree in Entertainment Business in Full Sail University in Orlando, FL, she’s created this blog to improve her knowledge in the industry. With this, she plans to market her name and company through social networking in the internet. Also, this blog is written proof of what she is learning along the way of achieving her degree.
“I look forward on putting all my knowledge and skills together and open a small business in Event & Artist Management in Puerto Rico.”
